Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph TITANIUM Watch

Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split Seconds

The new RM 65-01 is Richard Mille's most complicated automatic chronograph to date

After 5 years of development, Richard Mille presents the most complicated automatic chronograph to date – the new RM 65-01. The model fully represents the technical approach of the brand thanks to the combination of several additional functions, a very specific architecture and a high aesthetic. This timepiece is made from more than 600 parts.

The iconic case of the RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph features Richard Mille’s proprietary layered carbon TPT material and a mix of red gold and carbon TPT, measuring 44mm x 49.9mm. This timepiece features a skeletonized self-winding movement, hours, minutes, seconds at 6 o'clock, date, split-seconds chronograph, 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock 12-hour counter, function selector, fast winding and variable geometry rotor.replica watches for sale

The new split-seconds chronograph is powered by the new RMAC4 split-seconds chronograph movement, developed in collaboration with movement specialist Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. The modern architecture of the movement allows for a consistent and rational arrangement of its components, avoiding unnecessary superposition and enabling optimal use of functions through technical solutions. The RMAC4 movement is equipped with the latest generation of split-seconds mechanism developed by Richard Mille engineers. The 6-column wheel ensures optimized synchronized movement, maximum functional locking and greater adjustment durability.

The baseplate and bridges are made of grade 5 titanium, a biocompatible, highly corrosion-resistant, rigid alloy that allows the gear train to function effortlessly. The alloy is 90% grade 5 titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. This combination further improves the mechanical properties of the material. The baseplate of the movement RMAC4 has been optimized for an extremely low weight/drag ratio. The skeletonized baseplates and bridges were tested to optimize their resistance capacity.replica Jacob & Co. Astronomia Casino

Chronographs undergo a variety of tests to prove their correct function in any situation, from shock and drop simulations to a 10-year accelerated aging period for all functions, to water resistance tests and tests against magnetic fields.

For an extremely clear dial, the RM 65-01 uses color coding to match the functions corresponding to the buttons. Yellow represents the time: hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o'clock. Green refers to the date display. Orange identifies the sweeping seconds hand of the chronograph and the 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers. Red is connected to the winding mechanism, and the double rattrapante is blue.cheap luxury watches

Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Black Watch

Breitling continues to put a lot of stock into its Superocean collection—the standard Superocean and the more retro-themed Superocean Heritage are among the brand's bestsellers, and you'll find a huge selection of them in it. A prime example is how superoceans (not even the superocean heritage) come in so many different sizes. Currently, Breitling offers the Superocean Automatic in 42mm, 44mm, 46mm and 48mm wide. This generation of the Breitling Superocean came out in 2019. Today I looked at a couple of Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 watches – namely the “black” versions with dark grey DLC-coated (mostly) steel cases.

Note that the larger Superocean Automatic 48 has a simpler dial and bezel lock switch on the side of the case, so it's a little different. I actually like that model too, but the discussion of that timepiece model will be left for another post. Now, let's take a look at the second-largest Superocean model currently produced by Breitling: the Superocean Automatic 46 fake luxury watches. Essentially similar versions of this watch (case and dial, albeit different colors) are also available in 44 and 42mm wide sizes.

Superocean has always been one of Breitling's most comfortable and versatile options for everyday wear. These are multipurpose sports watches with a masculine touch, and the sophisticated design and construction make them feel very high-end. Price-wise, they're not cheap, but there are certainly plenty of watches that aren't expensive, but cost two or three times as much. This generation of Superocean is water-resistant to 2,000 meters (48 is water-resistant to 3,000 meters), which makes it a solid dive watch. The sturdy casing and components account for deep water resistance, but more than 300 meters of water resistance is not actually required in the vast majority of even professional diving scenarios.

In some cases, the 46mm wide stainless steel case is paired with gold. Image reference The U17368221B1S1 Superocean Automatic 46 Black Steel & 18k Red Gold model (as the name suggests) combines an 18k red gold bezel with a black-coated stainless steel case. It adds to the price, but helps add more luxury spice to this tool watch treat. The 46mm wide case does wear a lot (but in a pleasing way) at 16.8mm thick and 57.6mm lug-to-lug distance. They are also designed to be used with 24mm wide shoulder straps. Note the automatic helium escape valve on the side of the case.audemars piguet royal oak offshore replica

The unidirectional rotating bezels of this style in the past were designed with vulcanized rubber inserted between the embossed numerals and markers. While I think the vulcanized rubber is no longer used, the bezel is still designed with raised brushed markings and a more matte black finish underneath. The Superocean is loved by many tool watch lovers, especially for its no-nonsense attitude, despite its refined European look.

Inside the Superocean Automatic 46 watch is a Breitling Calibre 17 automatic movement, which is a basic ETA automatic movement (2824-2 I believe) that is COSC chronometer certified. This is a basic movement, but here is the premium version with added value thanks to the chronometer certification. Really, that's fine for a three-hand movement with a date in a watch that doesn't show a caseback. That said, a watch at the same price level as the Superocean Automatic 46 does have a more premium (but not necessarily better) mechanical movement.Jacob and Co. replica watches

Attached to the case is a high-quality rubber strap with Breitling branding. The company also sells compatible NATO style straps that should look really nice on the Superocean 46 as I've seen a lot of people wear them. Note that Breitling offers rubber straps on either a traditional pin buckle at the end of the strap or a folding deployant clasp. Currently, Breitling only offers Superocean for the 42mm and 44mm wide bracelets in natural steel (non-black finish). One small thing I'd like to see on the limited edition Superocean 46 is the no-date dial option, which works with the Superocean 48, which is one of the reasons I like that larger watch so much, despite its rather large proportions.

Other versions of the Breitling Superocean 46, in addition to the black with 18k red gold reference U17368221B1S1, also have black with blue dial reference M17368D71C1S1, black with yellow dial reference M17368D71I1S1, and black on black reference M17368B71B1S1.luxury watch replica

Greubel Forsey GMT Black Titanium Men Watch

Greubel Forsey new GMT Sport with integrated metal bracelet

Unveiled at Watches and Wonders Digital in April 2021, the new GMT Sport titanium watch is Greubel Forsey’s first creation with a fully integrated metal bracelet. This spectacular timepiece features a new bezel and new finishes.

Taking centre stage for the first time on the GMT Sport, the distinctive Greubel Forsey bezel now subtly sheds the key figures of relief engraving, taking on a new profile. Hand-polished horizontal straight grain on top, hand-polished contours and sides in a soft and striking new form, finely crafted bezel that opens the dial and draws more attention to the essence - the Greubel Forsey machine Core and hand-finished, which are the hallmarks of every timepiece.

This new finish accentuates the unique profile of the GMT Sport’s bezel, with the oval gently curving at 12 and 6 o’clock to follow the contours of the wrist – a passion for perfect ergonomics reaffirms this watch modern everyday style exclusive timepiece.

This ergonomic design is further pursued in this new bracelet for the GMT Sport – the first metal bracelet created by Greubel Forsey. Entirely designed by Atelier and exclusively for this timepiece, it is fully integrated into the case of the GMT Sport, with a contour that seamlessly follows the oval shape of the case and bezel.

True to its heritage, Greubel Forsey has paid particular attention to the distribution of three different styles of finishes on the side and central links: straight, brushed and hand-polished chamfers.

For example, a matte finish was chosen to echo the finish of the lugs, emphasizing the aesthetic continuity between the case and bracelet. The latter is made of grade 5 titanium, which is lightweight, strong and very strong. It features a micro-adjustment system that provides valuable millimeters of movement, allowing the wearer to choose between a loose, relaxed fit or a comfortable wrist fit.

As for the movement, this new GMT Sport is the first to feature a uniform colour: the main plate, bridge, globe, second time zone dial and the 24-second indicator ring of the tourbillon 24-stop at 1 o’clock are all in the same blue end. Both the central suspended arched bridge and the tourbillon bridge are hollowed out to accentuate the three-dimensional movement architecture of its dark blue finish.

The choice of a deep matt blue on the one hand, and polished components in titanium (bridges, globe) or stainless steel (hands, power reserve) on the other, accentuate the strong contrast of the movement itself and ensure perfect legibility.

Thanks to a case diameter of 42 mm (45 mm for the bezel), the technicality of the movement is in perfect harmony with an intuitive central hour and minute display, a second time zone at 10 o'clock, a power reserve at 3 o'clock and a spinning globe 8 Globe at the o'clock.

With this new livery, which is more refined and refined than ever, Greubel Forsey offers a new expression for two of their iconic creations. Their third invention is the 24-second tourbillon, located between 12 and 2 o'clock. With its cage inclined at a 25° angle and completes a full rotation in 24 seconds, the Tourbillon 24 Seconds offers exceptional timekeeping performance - in addition to a truly unique visual effect.

Then, the globe is placed between 7 and 9 o'clock. More than any other product, it embodies the three-dimensional time display pioneered by Greubel Forsey. Thanks to this invention that performs a full rotation in 24 hours, the world time can be read easily, quickly and intuitively.

Viewed from above the North Pole, the ring with 24-hour markers reads local time at all longitudes and also serves as a day/night indicator. On the back side of the case, a disc showing the name of the city is surrounded by 2 rings, allowing the wearer to read UTC and daylight saving time for 24 cities in 24 major time zones. It also distinguishes those time zones that apply daylight saving time (on light backgrounds) from those that do not (on dark backgrounds).

Jacob & Co. BUGATTI CHIRON TOURBILLON PAVE BU200.40.RD.AA.ABRUA

Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar Watch Getting Started Replica Buying Guide

Some people might not immediately associate Jacob & Co. with haute horlogerie, but that doesn't change the fact that the brand makes some of the most outrageous, bold, and expensive watches you can buy today. Just look at their Grand Complication Masterpieces and you'll find otherworldly watches like the Twin Turbo Twin Triple Axis Tourbillon Minute Repeater and Epic SF24 Flying Tourbillon. However, the mainstay of Jacob & Co.'s Grand Complication Masterpieces has to be the Astronomia, which has since spawned many different versions such as the Clarity & Black watch. The latest one is called Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar, which we'll be introducing today.

Since this is Jacob & Co., I fully expect more precious metal models as well as diamond models in the future. Jacob & Co. has taken on the responsibility of keeping expectations unusual and highly satisfied among some of the toughest watch buyers in the world. It's great to see him hitting his goals on a regular basis. 2016 Jacob & Co. Costs. One of the most striking things I strapped on my wrist at Baselworld 2015 was the finished Jacob & Co.. Astronomia Tourbillon watch (and like a diamond-encrusted Jacob & Co. The sapphire crystal encased mechanical planetary system put a very real and very big smile on my face and, according to one person, no business even existed because it was too much.

This is an insane watch, arguably the best of Jacob & Co. - I think the watch and jewelry company gets a lot more attention than it gets from watch fans. Over the past few years, I've written a lot about Jacob Arabo and his controversial life and company. Let's face it, he's in the company of the dazzling world's richest. It's a tall order, and people need to love that throughout my entire time as a luxury watch writer/blogger/critic/anything where the world of the rich is still very much the same as those who are not so rich Men and women have very different planets. Classism is there, it's real, when everyone goes to the bathroom and wears one leg at a time, those with a lot of money just have another set of problems and considerations in their lives. Well, with that out of the way, let's go back to the dazzling Mr. Arabo and a few watches that I don't think people who aren't in his world really know about.

Again, this isn't the first time we've had the chance to use an Astronomia watch. The last Astronomia watch we had a chance to play with was the Astronomia Clarity & Black, but the new Astronomia Solar is a better value. We'll discuss the differences later, so let's start with the case first.

The housing design remains largely unchanged. 18k rose gold is used to form the rough outlines, and the spaces in between are filled with sapphires, allowing the owner to unobstructed views of the movement inside. The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar has a case diameter of 44.5mm, which is a bit smaller than other Astronomia watches. The case is 21mm thick, and yes, that's not a typo. That's because the case itself has to be quite large to accommodate the fantastic 3D movement, and it has an insanely domed sapphire crystal. So, the Astronomia Solar, like other Astronomia watches, is really chunky. Don't expect it to slip down your shirt sleeve, rest assured everyone will notice it on your wrist - you already know that, of course.

Water resistance is only 30m, which is understandable for the complexity of the watch. Moving on, one thing some people might notice is that there is no visible crown. Well, setting the time and winding is actually done using two foldable 18k rose gold "bows" on the back of the case. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a photo of the chassis, but it's similar to the systems you've found in some previous iterations of Astro. Of course, one will be drawn to the whimsical and refined world inside the dial.

Like other Astronomia watches, the movement of the Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar is exposed on the dial for all to see. There's a lot to see and a lot to move. First, the movement actually consists of three separate arms; one arm leads to the sub-dial that displays the time; the other leads to the flying tourbillon; and finally, the third arm leads to the earth.

RICHARD MILLE RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal

Replica watches for sale

Replica swiss watches

Although eclipsed, the time is remarkably legible, and the blue hour and minute hands are quite large, contrasting with the skeletonized sub-dials in 18k rose gold. The flying tourbillon features the Jacob & Co. logo on the tourbillon bridge, which actually rotates on two axes. Yes, this is not an ordinary tourbillon, it is a dual-axis tourbillon. Horizontally, it rotates every 60 seconds. In the vertical direction, it rotates every 10 minutes.

Finally, the globe made of rose gold and blue lacquer rotates every 60 seconds. It also revolves around the dial every 10 minutes, as the entire structure, or the movement itself, rotates clockwise every 10 minutes. But that's not all, because the aventurine base, decorated like the night sky, rotates counter-clockwise every 10 minutes.

With Astronomia Solar, Jacob & Co. wanted to create a model of our solar system in a watch. Thus, in the middle of the dial is a 1.5-carat Jacobean-cut rhubarb, representing the sun. Jacob & Co. also uses amethyst, garnet, and three other gemstones in smoky quartz to represent other planets. These planets all rotate with the movement, rotating the dial every 10 minutes. The end result of all these rotating elements is stunning, it looks like you have a miniature solar system spinning on your wrist.

The movement that makes it all happen is the in-house JCAM19 movement. Consisting of 444 parts, this movement is unique because it is mainly made of titanium. Since the mainspring has to drive so many rotating parts, titanium is used to reduce the load on the mainspring. The tourbillon beats at 4Hz and the JCAM19 has a power reserve of 48 hours. It's also flawless, with sandblasted and beveled bridges, rounded textures on the gear train components, and polished countersinks and screws.

In terms of visual appeal and as a statement piece, the Astronomia Solar watch has few counterparts. On the wrist, the watch screams "Look at me!" Of course, this watch offers a lot to see and appreciate. Granted, that's a bit overkill, and purists will argue that the watch serves no practical purpose. For example, the positions of the planets are not accurate, unlike Van Cleef & Arpels' Midnight Planetarium watch, but compared to the Midnight Planetarium, the Astronomia Solar's fast-spinning dual-axis tourbillon and its dial, its constantly changing position and movement. For a fun watch that lets those around you instantly know your worth, I can think of no better watch for the job than the Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar watch.

Luxury Devon Thread 1 Group 63 Limited Edition Watch

Devon Tread 1 Steampunk Watch Review

When the video I made for the original Devon Tread 1 watch went viral, I was totally surprised. Shows how to use the Tread 1 and shows how its belt-driven timing system works. At the time of writing, it has about 450,000 views - an impromptu video I shot on a kitchen counter in Devon, Los Angeles. Later, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Devon Tread 1 for a while and wrote about it here in my full review.

In 2012, Tread 1 launched a special limited-edition "steampunk" version, and I'm delighted to offer this exclusive review and experience it for the first time. This is Devon's answer to a more artistic version of the mechanical art watch, and I'm glad they decided to make it. If you think the Tread 1 is a niche product, I wonder how you feel about the Tread 1 Steampunk? In most respects, the steampunk version of the Tread 1 is identical to the original. Mechanically identical (though it has the latest firmware), and case dimensions are more or less comparable (all steampunk cladding differs). Having said that, the new parts make it feel like something else entirely - no, those aren't loose screws coming out of it.

replica Devon watches

replica bremont jaguar watches

replica Greubel Forsey Watches

replica watches for men

However, the watch does contain a lot of screws - mostly cosmetic. The steampunk aesthetic stems from a Jules Verne-inspired mix of science fiction and industrial revolution-era technology and machinery. Most people think it's retro-futuristic, and I have to admit a lot of it is pretty cool. A hallmark of steampunk creation is the "stale" look, where things don't look new. This is actually why bronze is a fashionable material in some watches. The Tread 1 Steampunk uses it heavily to create a convincingly aged look - which is actually a charming irony, given the Tread 1's interior is so modern. No "real" steampunk item will have a computer microcontroller!

The Tread 1 Steampunk comes in shades of gold and brown, making it unique in the complex world of high-end steampunk. Compared to a few other things, the Tread 1 Steampunk is actually a bargain. Then again, as a luxury timepiece, it's not cheap at all.

It's hard for me not to laugh with the Tread 1 Steampunk on my wrist. I actually know it looks silly to a lot of people, but it just tickled me right in all the right places. Maybe it's a lifetime of enjoying video games and sci-fi, maybe it's just my "male instinct" telling me this watch is cool. Is it cooler than the original Tread 1? It's really something completely different. In fact, I dare say that, given the steampunk colors and well-worn look, it's actually more "stylish and versatile" than the more futuristic units.

The size of the Tread 1 Steampunk is not small. The case is 56mm wide and 50mm high. The case is also 18.5mm thick. However, it's a lot more comfortable to wear than you might think - thanks to the richly clad lugs. The metal case appears to be a mix of steel and bronze, paired with a nice-looking brown leather strap. Devon does a great job of mixing colors and textures well. Steampunk lovers will no doubt be fascinated.

The design element of the Tread 1 Steampunk is essentially the "armor cladding" on the original case. This includes bronze plates and screws. I first wrote about the Devon Tread 1 Steampunk watch here, showing a rendering of the design. You can see that the final version is slightly different, but not completely different. The "Frankenstein's Monster" neck screw is still there and looks very proud. It's actually not that sharp to the touch. My favorites are the screw rivets around the case and the patina that develops on the bronze surface. This patina evolves over time and slightly changes the look of the watch. Hardcore collectors love these things.

One element that wasn't present in the Tread 1 Steampunk concept was a different color for the numbers on the belt. Devon should use a tan that matches bronze and brown. Maybe it's not clear enough. A black belt with white text still does it for me. Although maybe it would be interesting to use a brown belt to give the appearance that the belt is made of leather or something like that. What Devon did was change the colour of the internal mechanics so they had a brass finish instead of a polished steel look. I think it's a nice touch and is used throughout the movement mechanics.

I suddenly realized that some of you are reading Devon Tread 1 for the first time, which means you are not familiar with the concept. I'll take a quick look at it, but see the review of the original Tread 1 for more details on how it works and everything it does. The concept of the watch is simple: use a series of electronic single-step motors in conjunction with a small computer to move a belt that shows the time. The dial has windows where you can read the correct hours, minutes and seconds. It's easy to read and use.

Devon doesn't call the watch a simple quartz movement, but an electromechanical movement. This is not inaccurate. The movement is specially designed in German and is very complicated. It has a lithium-ion battery that lasts about 2-3 weeks, and the watch can be turned off to save power, or put into a power save mode that only displays hours and minutes (not seconds). This power saving mode is how most people leave their watch anyway - mainly because the constant sound of the motor running can be a little boring to the ears. In power saving mode it only happens once per minute. The full bore "All Belt Activity Mode" is for when you really want people to notice what's on your wrist.

To control the watch, you have a kind of joystick that looks like a crown attached to the case. It works well once you understand how it works. Is this a quality timepiece for everyday wear? It really depends on who you are. Action heroes, Bond villains and oil tycoon-wearing rattlesnake boots probably wear a watch every day. Most others will choose a few times a week when they feel like they want to talk to the world. You really don't want to wear this watch if you're not seeking attention.

HYT H1 COLORBLOCK YELLOW Men 148-TT-80-NF-FY watch

Aquatimer: Experience HYT's Fluidic for yourself

HYT really knows how to get our blood flowing.

From the launch of the HYT H²0 Brown to the downright mythical (in the watchmaking sense) creation published at SIHH. Who would have thought that in less than a decade, HYT would be able to rewrite traditional watchmaking codes. At this year's SIHH, HYT continued on this very innovative path with a range of new products.

H0 – Fluid Diamond
Let's start with the most exciting of all the HYT works we've seen. This H 0 model - set with 1,206 diamonds for a total carat weight of 7.423 carats. As my colleague Benjamin points out, HYT is on a "philosophical quest" and this article is no exception. In fact, marketing materials for the piece see the brand quoting the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, "No one steps into the same river twice, because it's not the same river, and he's not the same man."

HYT H1 Chrysoberyl Dome Black DLC 148-DL-21-GF-RU-YS

Here, the iconic H 0 model is turned into a jewelry masterpiece. In stark contrast to the gleaming all-diamond dial and subdials are circular fluid modules filled with red liquid. Other red accessories include a red alligator leather strap and matching gloves.

This model is available in two colors, black or red.

H0 - 'Time is precious'
When you deal with H 0 - 'Time is Precious', the first thing that comes to your mind is the kaleidoscopic quality of the dial. What looks like a broken mirror is actually a well-crafted inlaid dial - composed of 63 pieces of monocrystalline silicon. Once worn on the wrist, this stunning transparent model reveals itself from multiple angles. Stainless steel case with "Time Is Precious" engraved on the side. The domed sapphire crystal allows unobstructed viewing from any angle.

On the wrist, the H 0 - 'Time is Precious' model is certainly an impressive model for this writer's small(ish) wrist. The 48.8mm case size does skew towards the larger size, but given the technology included in this fluid creation, we'll go through it. The transparent rubber strap with titanium buckle is comfortable to wear.

H1.0 - new model
Imagine yourself in a dystopian future where cars fly and robots run our lives. Now imagine what role the watch will play in this not-so-distant reality. While we're not yet living in Fritz Lang's "metropolis," this new H1.0 is truly the watch you'll want to wear when the robot takes over.

The new H1.0 takes the wearer into a new dimension of watchmaking. Skeletonization exposes almost every aspect of an incredible movement that is mechanical in nature but combined with HYT's proprietary microfluidic modules. The exposed bellows at the six o'clock position helps pump liquid through the borosilicate glass tube. The black DLC-coated case complements the satin-finished movement components visible through the domed sapphire crystal.

H20 »Time is fluid«
The brand continues to push the boundaries of modern watchmaking and applied fluid dynamics. Just five years ago, water was the enemy of watches. Brands go to great lengths to protect their precious cargo through the use of various seals, screws and threads.

HYT has turned the world upside down, retooling the well-known watchmaking axis. With the new H 2 0 »TIME IS FLUID«, HYT takes this concept to the extreme. A fully 3D design that totally inspires the idea of time telling. The guilloche discs for the minutes and seconds are offset and well above the main plate. The brand has developed a bespoke APRP movement (Audemars Piguet Renaud et Papi). Serious timepiece indeed.

The H 2 0 »TIME IS FLUID« is available in two limited editions, one in 18k yellow gold and one in stainless steel. What I found most interesting was the SuperLuminova app on the dial and side case, which, under the right conditions, could give you a spaceship on your wrist.

"Time is a flat circle" is a phrase repeated in the halls of industry trade shows. In short, everything we have done or will do, we will do over and over again. Not at HYT! The brand goes beyond liquidity and into watchmaking!

Breitling Navitimer 1461 Limited Edition Grande Complica Men a1937012/ba57-1cd

Breitling joins hands with iconic motorcycle brand to bring us top-time victories

race in motorcycle paradise

Those tired of yet another motorsport watch collaboration might want to check out the new Breitling x Triumph pairing. The partnership may have the usual hallmarks -- a focus on performance and innovation, with a special-edition watch to match the special-edition model -- but because this is Breitling and Triumph, there's some rebellious, retro coolness thrown in. Plus a lot of history.

The new Top Time Triumph is particularly reminiscent of 1960s "cafe racers," a subculture that emerged in post-austerity, post-war Britain and America when trendy motorcycles became must-have wheels and their Riders shuttle from hip cafes to trendy cafes. Think James Dean on his victory trophy and the biker outlaw in The Wild One. Miles Perkins, head of brand management at Triumph, said: "It was the birth of a subculture who had time in their teens and could borrow money - a time when the world was a brighter place after World War II. "You've had an explosion of pop culture: music, movies, motorcycles."

Bringing this spirit to the wrist is the Breitling Top Time, a bold chronograph introduced in the 1960s. With its highly graphic dial and unconventional square case, this watch was designed for a younger audience — "speaking their language," Willy Breitling said in 1964 — this timepiece Has appeared in magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. "It's a bit unconventional and disruptive," said Gavin Murphy, Breitling's UK managing director. "It appeals to a younger, hipper generation."

Fast forward to 2022 and the new 41mm Top Time Triumph unsurprisingly exudes a modern retro vibe, complemented by the Triumph Speed Twin Breitling motorcycle, limited to 270 pieces (speed and RPM gauges co-designed with Breitling). Both feature a striking icy blue hue reminiscent of the history of both brands: the multi-colored blue of the 1951 Triumph Thunderbird 6T, which Marlon Brando would later immortalize in the film The Wild. And the rare blue dial Breitling Top Time Ref 815 from the 1970s.

Breitling specifically shaped the dial with its signature Zorro pattern – an ultra-graphic bow-tie look, with the contrasting colours of the two counters reminiscent of Zorro’s mask. But here, instead of contrasting tones, Breitling lets ice blue do the talking, with a beautiful brushed finish that makes up not only the sub-dial, but the two brands at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions logo. The black tachymeter scale complements the racing-themed black leather strap, and the oversized mushroom-head putter further accentuates the retro sports theme for a graphic look. The caseback is engraved with a sketch of the Triumph parallel twin engine and houses the self-winding Breitling Caliber 23, a COSC-certified chronometer with a 48-hour power reserve.

It feels like every watch brand is partnering with a car brand these days, but this collaboration feels especially refreshing. That's partly down to the fact that motorcycles are more niche - dare we say it's cooler than cars, and Breitling seems to be going all out (this is its second motorcycle collaboration in a year, plus Breitling's chief It helps that exec Georges Kern is a keen motorcycle rider). At the same time, the long history of cooperation between the two parties also adds to the authenticity.

Triumph celebrates its 120th birthday this year, the British brand has been supporting key motorcycle innovation and development, earning accolades along the way, like the only manufacturer to break the motorcycle land speed record five times (fact: it owns the fastest motorcycle in the world) of motorcycle titles between 1955-1970, saving about a month). Such a legacy certainly attracts petrolheads, and for the rest of us, there's Hollywood star power: as mentioned, there's Dean and Brando, as well as Steve McQueen in The Great Escape and Tom Cruise's twice Jumped and crashed his 1962 TR6 650 trophy in victory (Daytona T595 and Speed Triple) in Mission Impossible II, then Thruxton in Edge of Tomorrow. More recently, Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200 in the latest Bond film No Time Die did some really bad stunts. A total homage to coffee racer culture in this particular watch, it creates a compelling story, especially for someone who is not that much into motorcycles (like this writer, admittedly).

Like the Triumph, the Breitling Top Time has both insider and layman appeal. This watch and the striking Zorro dial have a place in watch history, a bold creation for the stylish, swinging Sixties crowd of the 1960s. Bond has his own credit, too: a modified Top Time starring (and saving the world) in 1965's Thunderball - a watch that sold for a whopping £103,875 at Christie's pop culture auction in 2013.

These overlapping histories mean that both Breitling and Triumph should attract attention and new audiences - which is ultimately what all these collaborations are about. In fact, it seems to be on track: All 50 Triumph Twin Speed motorcycles allotted for the UK market were snapped up within 12 minutes of the partnership going live last week, and buyers are no doubt keen to get their hands on their matching Breitling Engraved with their bike's unique number.

But hype aside, this watch is a real watch. The ice blue dial is really beautiful and instantly grabs attention, especially with the contrasting black tachymeter scale, black subdials, black logos and black perforated leather strap. "Squirrel" chronograph counters and oversized mushroom pushers guide the continuing craze for 1960s watches and all things retro geometry. Finally, Breitling's Calibre 23 will surely deliver, the watchmaker is a preeminent brand alongside Rolex and Omega, offering some of the best precision timepieces in the business. Reportedly, this is the first watch in Breitling and Triumph's long-term partnership, and we're curious to see where the road leads.
