Today the craftsman is 36 years old. When he was 15 years old, he spent most of his childhood in his grandfather's machine shop, and he became interested in elaborate tools. He first purchased professional magazines and participated in trade fairs based on tools. “My passion for the knives began to grow in my heart. I started making fixed blades, but I quickly turned to points and eventually made folders. A few years later, I became a member of the Italian Guild. “Over the years, he developed his own uniqueness. The unique style uses high-tech materials such as carbon fiber and metal alloys, as well as traditional materials such as gold and mother-of-pearl. “I quickly realized that old and new are a subtle and unexpected combination. This has led to the unique look of my work.”
When URWERK asked him to cooperate and show him the UR-T8, he did not hesitate to say yes. “We are interested in doing some very unique things and the space for doing this work.” He even set a higher standard and created a one-time matching knife for the watch. “The Colibri case of the UR-T8 watch uses the same mosaic technique as the folding knife inlay. It cuts hundreds of individual black-lipped mother-of-pearl into diamonds and then manually sorts and arranges them according to their respective reflected light. The mosaic inlay oscillates between movement between light and dark. The 18k gold stitch highlights each pearl intersection, two mosaic inlays are set in a stainless steel frame and housed in a 3-D engraved titanium case in.
This watch is equipped with an art knife. The Colibri T-8 model is a custom folding knife. Its 416 stainless steel handle frame contains a blade mechanism that runs on ceramic ball bearings. The handle, the lock and the blade are inlaid with a black lip-shaped mother-of-pearl, which is designed with alternating light technology to create a unique color effect. Each pearl is connected by individual pins of 18k gold, each inlaid with a black vintage Bakelite frame. The mosaic inlaid with a diamond pattern is paired with a titanium insert, and the 3D engraving is the same pattern as the URWERK T8 case. In addition, the patented C-Lock mechanism is shaped to lock the blade in the open and closed positions and has been redesigned to resemble the contour of the URWERK T8 housing.
