The LM Perpetual EVO (which stands for Evolution) launched in three limited-edition zirconium versions, followed by a titanium version with a green CVD dial. The fifth LM Perpetual EVO, which replaces the titanium case/green dial model, is also made from titanium and shares the same 44mm case diameter and 17.5mm thickness as its predecessor. The bezel-less construction means the domed sapphire crystal is bonded directly to the case, adding to the viewing pleasure. Stephen Macdonald’s revolutionary perpetual calendar is visible on the dial. McDonnell's QP subverts traditional perpetual calendar movements, relying on a mechanical processor composed of a series of superimposed discs. This breakthrough processor takes the default number of days in the month, 28—because logically all months have at least 28 days—and then adds the additional number of days required each month. This ensures that each month has the exact correct number of days and eliminates the possibility of date jump errors. A built-in safety feature disconnects the quick-set button during date change, so there is no risk of damaging the 581 component movement even if the button is accidentally activated when the date changes.
While most of the horological decorations are displayed on the dial, the back showcases the escapement, twin barrels (giving the movement 72 hours of autonomy), and the finest hand-finished finishes. The back adheres to the decorative tradition of the 19th century, with ornate internal bevels, polished bevels, large gold rhinestones, Côtes de Genève on dark bridges and hand-made inscriptions, recalling a bygone era.
