Diving with the new Breitling Superocean Heritage II B20 Limited Edition
Breitling enthusiasts have reason to celebrate this week. The Swiss brand has announced the launch of the new SuperOcean Heritage II luxury replica watches. Available in stainless steel and an ocean blue hue, it is powered by a reliable automatic movement to guarantee underwater functionality.
How it all began
The demand for dive watches peaked in the 1950s. Thanks to some very special features, they began to play an integral role in assisting professional divers to go deep into the water. At the heart of this were two groundbreaking dive watches from Breitling. They were launched in 1957 to assist in two different nautical roles. One was a simple three-hand chronograph (reference 1004) and the other was a sporty chronograph (reference 807). Both were named "Superocean" and the chronograph version proved to be more performance-oriented and designed to suit experienced divers. The watches proved popular with amateurs, underwater scientists and those participating in nautical leisure activities.
To create its first diver’s high quality copy watches, Breitling drew on its experience in creating highly legible aviation instruments. These dive watches featured 200-meter water resistance, highly legible dials, and a stunning overall design. To maximize the legibility of these models, Breitling experts created oversized circular and triangular hour markers, giving the design a unique and easily recognizable look. Its rotating bezel also featured an avant-garde concave design. Its design looked different from the flat black bezels that were beginning to appear for diving. In the mid-1960s, Breitling decided to redesign this 39 mm model to further improve its aesthetics and functionality.
Willy Breitling took the Reference 807 a step further with the new chronograph, which also enabled better readability at great depths. To help navigate the small minute counter, which was difficult to refer to in dark conditions, he equipped the watch with a large central chronograph minute hand that rotated once a full hour. The watch was nicknamed “Slow Motion.” However, there was a problem with this watch. It made it almost impossible to tell whether the chronograph function was engaged. To overcome this, he created a running indicator at 6 o'clock. When the chronograph is started, the indicator turns yellow. Breitling Superocean Heritage replica Watches
In 1964, the Superocean was released with a newer, simpler design. Its simple dial design had no counters and came in a 43 mm case. In 1969, it was equipped with a revolutionary movement, the Chrono-Matic.
In 1983, Breitling once again pushed the boundaries of technology and developed a deep-sea model. With a 1,000-meter water resistance, this watch is undoubtedly suitable for trained divers. This impressive water resistance is due to the helium escape valve. Today, the Superocean and Superocean Heritage watches pay tribute to the rich tradition of diving watch manufacturing. The Superocean watch is designed for those who need the main functions of a diving tool, while the Superocean Heritage watch looks less technical. replica Patek Philippe Watches
New Breitling Superocean Heritage II B20 Watches
Breitling has released not one, but two wonderful interpretations of the Superocean Heritage II. They come with different straps, so it's hard to make a choice. Both models are made of stainless steel and have a diameter of 44 mm. They are both protected from water penetration thanks to a solid anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown at 3 o'clock. Water-resistant to 200 meters, the movement located inside the case always remains dry and protected. The desaturated blue dial provides a canvas for a set of Super-LumiNova-coated stick markers and a set of central hands. In addition to the arrow-tipped hour hand and the minute track with a fine edge, the dial of the new Superocean Heritage II B20 watch also features a black date window at 6 o'clock.
The Breitling B20 movement is based on a Tudor movement manufactured in 2017 and, in addition to a 70-hour power reserve, has a crown-based fastest function and a variable inertia balance wheel that is finely adjusted via screws. The new watch is available with a stainless steel mesh bracelet with a folding clasp or a black rubber strap, designed to echo the same look. While the black rubber "mesh" strap gives the Superocean Heritage II a sportier look, the mesh steel bracelet is a great choice if you like the vintage appeal of the Superocean Heritage collection.
