Urwerk EMC Transforms Into Stealthy SR-71 Blackbird
Urwerk's unique electromechanical hybrid celebrates its 10th anniversary in style. replica Urwerk EMC SR-71
The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird was a legendary engineering marvel that flew higher, farther and faster than any aircraft before it. It still inspires people today. Martin Frey and Felix Baumgartner are the talented duo behind ultra-technical independent watchmaker Urwerk. Their latest creation, the EMC SR-71, is not only based on the iconic SR-71, but also uses the same special alloy for its signature hand crank. Surprisingly, its creation was inspired by experienced watch collectors Jason Sakhoyan and Dr. Roman Speer, an aeronautical engineer and expert on the SR-71 Blackbird!
The Urwerk EMC is an electromechanical hybrid and one of the most complicated creations to ever come out of the Geneva watchmaking workshops. First launched in 2014 to much fanfare, it is now celebrating its tenth anniversary in this very fitting and technical way. EMC stands for Electro-Mechanical Control, which immediately hints at its internals. Its unique features include a system that provides its owner with information that is usually meaningful to a watchmaker. A crank on the side powers a Maxon generator, which in turn powers the microcircuitry in the movement. The processor acts as a reference oscillator, which can compare the amplitude and rate deviation of the balance wheel. This is displayed on the dial of the buying replica watch, along with the hours, minutes, seconds and power reserve. For a more detailed explanation, you can check out our previous in-depth coverage here!
The EMC SR-71 has a titanium and stainless steel "body" that is 47.55 mm wide, 49.57 mm long and 17.58 mm high (so, it is really big!). The crank is made from the same alloy as the SR-71 spy plane, which mixes titanium, aluminum, vanadium, molybdenum and other elements. The indications on the watch dial are distributed between the hours and minutes in the lower right corner, with the seconds hand just above it. In the upper left corner, the deviation of the movement is displayed. The last indication is the power reserve indication, which is located under the arched sapphire crystal with a simple red and white scale. All indications and hands are made of luminous material. best replica watches
On the back, a uniquely shaped crystal glass shows the unique movement of EMC. Between the top lugs, you can find screws that can fine-tune the balance wheel as needed after pressing the button on the side of the case to determine the timekeeping accuracy of the balance wheel. Yellow details on the balance wheel and other elements complete the aircraft theme. For the rest, you can see the double-layered barrel and other parts decorated with Geneva waves, sailboats, micro-bead blasting and chamfering.
Urwerk has released the EMC SR-71 to commemorate its 10th anniversary this year. It comes with a green fabric and leather mixed NATO-style strap with a Velcro fastening system. fake watches for sale
