Oris Big Crown D.26 286 HB-RAG Limited Edition
The newest member of the Big Crown series is a limited edition green dial pointer date model inspired by the Swiss Air Force training aircraft.
Today we are proud to announce that the HODINKEE store now has a new Oris Big Crown collection. The Big Crown D.26 286 HB-RAG Limited Edition is inspired by the name Dewoitine D.26, a Swiss-made propeller aircraft used to train Swiss Air Force pilots in the 1930s. This new limited edition can be established thanks to a group of enthusiasts called Hanger 31. The organization resumed and flew one of two known D.26 aircraft. Oris' first Big Crown watch was launched in 1938 and was the first Oris watch to feature the manufacturer's date-complex features. The Big Crown D.26 286 HB-RAG Limited Edition is a modern interpretation of this original aviation watch. The 40mm stainless steel case features a coin-edge bezel and, of course, an oversized crown, named for the model. The dial is deep in hunter green, with a retro-style pilot pilot hand and large Arabic numerals. The pointer date pointer has a red tip to further improve legibility.
