Walk into the 2019 SIHH's Richard Mille booth - the brand's last appearance at this invitation-only trade show - just like entering another world. Other beige stalls, cream rugs, taupe tables and chairs are gone. The colors here linger from every corner and crack, begging to get rid of the show, the windows and the table.
Where are we landing? It looks a lot like Willy Wonka's watch studio. But this is not the case: this is Richard Mille's Geneva booth. But you will never guess it from the joyful, colorful atmosphere.

Richard Mille Bonbons: Re-examine technical excellence
Richard Mille and the street artist Cyril Kongo released a watch in 2016. The process of adding paint to the plates and bridges of the RM 68-01 technical movement is very refined and sufficient. Gum, ice cream, marshmallow, licorice rolls and candies are all processed from solid titanium plates and painted completely by hand to simulate the texture of the icing. Each of the ten models has a unique candy-themed index and flange, mounted on the frame of the open dial and candy elements.
This hollow frame is a 5th grade titanium hollow plate that has been hand-polished and chamfered. Miniature candies and fruits are of course extensively tested and can be loosened before they are added.
