Ulysse Nardin Freak X OPS

 Ulysse Nardin Freak X OPS

The Freak-named Ulysse Nardin replica collection is not inherently disturbing. Rather, it was created to change the status quo – to challenge the appearance and functionality of watches. When the Freak debuted in 2001, it had no traditional hands, no traditional dial, and no crown. It was also the first watch to feature silicon in its movement. Nearly two decades later, the Freak This is a Freak that delivers the cool carousel motion experience of the original while also throwing an olive branch at the traditional winding and setting experience. Today, the next piece in the series was revealed – the Ulysse Nardin Freak X OPS.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Ulysse Nardin use their “Magma” carbon composite. In the Freak In this khaki green, it's more of a volcano camo - which admittedly doesn't make much sense. It’s a Damascus-like black swirl pattern that interrupts the khaki green on the flanks, evoking a military operations aesthetic, hence the name OPS (Operations). Ulysse Nardin explains: "It is woven from carbon fiber with green epoxy resin, giving it its iconic three-dimensional look. No two cases are the same." It has a diameter of 43 mm and a thickness of 13.38 mm (including sapphire) crystal), this is certainly not a small high quality watches replica, but it does feel quite ergonomic to wear for its size. Give it a try and you might be surprised.

Ulysse Nardin will say that this watch has no dial, but between the time indicators integrated on the face of the movement, the external rearrangement that conveys the minutes, and the skeleton ring with scalloped hour bars, timekeeping is simple. The wide hand closest to the movement face indicates the hours, while the brighter, longer hand indicates the minutes. The hands and hour markers are coated with SuperLuminova that matches the case, making them clearly visible in the dark.

The watch is available with two fabric strap options, one in khaki green that matches the case, and the other in black made from recycled fishnet – a material Ulysse Nardin uses extensively. Each is secured with hook and loop fasteners, nicely providing a military action vibe. I think for a louder, more fun or casual wardrobe, green would be the best choice, but for more serious or private moments, black would be a bit toned down. luxury replica Watches

The in-house automatic movement UN-230 isn’t the most eye-catching movement, but that’s because everything you really want to see is on the dial. What’s remarkable about this 72-hour power reserve movement is that the hands are actually the movement’s rotating bridges. At the other end of the long minute hand, you’ll find the large silicon balance wheel and escapement in action. Since the bridges and minute indications are one and the same, the escapement makes one revolution around the dial every hour—a one-hour merry-go-round tourbillon, if you will. Due to the dynamic positioning of the escapement, just like a standard tourbillon, its rotation around the dial counteracts the effects of gravity over a longer period of time. This is a very clever mechanism, and some manufacturers have realized it.

As far as the novelty of this watch goes, it's very similar to what we've seen on the Freak X over the past few years - just with a new color scheme.
