Porsche Design - Chronograph 1 1972 Limited Edition
In 1972, Porsche Design launched its first timepiece, the iconic Chronograph I, which attracted widespread attention as the world's first completely matte black luxury replica watches.
The choice of matte black watch was inspired by motorsport. In fact, the cockpits of Porsche race cars are often matte black to prevent light reflections on the dashboard and make it easier to read the instruments.
Fifty years later, Porsche Design celebrates this milestone by releasing the new Chronograph 1 1972 Limited Edition.
The new model’s 40.8mm x 14.15mm case is made of lightweight titanium and reinforced with a matte black carbide coating. The bracelet is made of the same materials and finishes and is secured to the wrist with a titanium stainless steel folding clasp. The replica bugatti watch has a solid titanium screw-down caseback and is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters/330 feet).
The black dial is protected by a seven-layer anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and hardened coating, making the white accents crystal clear and perfectly readable.
The counters feature a 6-9-12 layout, leaving room for day and date indications at 3 o’clock.
The hour and minute hands, like the hour markers, are treated with Super-LumiNova and glow in the dark. The red chronograph seconds hand highlights the sporty gene of the copy luxury watches.
New Porsche Design movement WERK 01.140 developed exclusively for this edition The vibration frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and the power reserve is 48 hours. Its timing performance is certified by the Swiss Official Observatory Testing Agency (COSC).
