Since its first launch in 1994, the Zenith Chronomaster has spawned countless generations and versions. In 2021, the brand presents a modern and sporty version of this chronograph. Powered by a major evolution of the El Primero, this movement stands out for its unique 1/10 second display. In just a few years, the Chronomaster Sport has become one of Zenith's best-selling collections. If it was initially made in steel, we gradually saw more precious versions, and at LVMH's Watch Week 2025, the brand presented a gorgeous white gold version set with colorful rainbow baguette sapphires.
Rainbow gemstone setting has become a major trend in fine watchmaking over the past few years, and Zenith has also adopted this dazzling color scheme with the launch of the Chronomaster Sport Rainbow. Its 41 mm white gold case is set with 40 rainbow-colored sapphires (approx. 3.9 ct) and embellished with 10 baguette-cut diamonds (approx. 1 ct) to mark the seconds. The black lacquered dial is also set with baguette-cut sapphires and features the brand’s signature tricolor overlapping chronograph counters. This new Rainbow Chronomaster Sport is not the first gem-set version of the model; the brand launched a rose gold version last year with a meteorite dial set with white diamonds, black spinels, and gray and blue sapphires. The Chronomaster Sport is powered by the El Primero 3600 movement. Launched in 2019, this legendary Zenith high-frequency chronograph has undergone an innovative evolution that allows it to display tenths of a second with unprecedented legibility: the chronograph seconds hand completes a rotation of the dial in just 10 seconds. Running at 5Hz, the watch offers a comfortable 60-hour power reserve, and its blue column wheel and star-shaped rotor can be admired through the caseback.
