Zenith and Bamford Watch Division have teamed up to launch an ultra-limited version of the previous Chronomaster El Primero 38mm watch. The watch is limited to 25 pieces and was exclusively available on MR PORTER on November 15th.
This watch is based on the "Sun Blue" and is based on the Zenith Heritage 146 model. The speedometer was inspired by the El Primero in 1971 and the red seconds hand with a vintage chronograph case.
The blue dial is surrounded by a 38 mm stainless steel case with a dark blue Alcantara strap and white stitching. Each watch is numbered 1 to 25.

MB&F Legacy Machine 2 (LM2) Titanium Watch
The Geneva-based MB&F 2017 Shanghai International Furniture Fair unveiled a new limited-edition Legacy Machine No. 2 watch with a glamorous green-blue dial and a titanium case. As early as 2013, MB&F released the second iteration of the still-popular Legacy Machine series, which avoided the brand's very modern design experience to get more classic and traditional things. Since MB&F released the original MB&F LM2 model, they also released the Legacy Machine Perpetual watch (here). These are two very different watches, but I propose it because they are very similar from a price point of view, and I think it's worth a brief discussion about their unique appeal. However, the former will be made of a precious metal casing, while the 2017 MB&F LM2 will be made of a titanium casing. Does MB&F offer consumers a tough choice? Are people who buy watches at this level insensitive to price, can they buy at the same time, or is the watch uniquely attractive?
I personally would say that if I need to choose, I will have a lot of trouble when choosing between MB&F LM2 and Legacy Machine Perpetual. The complexity of Perpetual is more straightforward because anyone can understand the functionality of the perpetual calendar system. Each watch has its own look and can be used to showcase a luxurious handcrafted movement. The downside of Legacy Machine Perpetual is that if you don't wear it often, you need to adjust a lot of settings to display all the data correctly (after all, it's a perpetual calendar). MB&F LM2 has the exact opposite problem because it only tells time. At least LM1 tells the time... twice. Therefore, MB&F LM2 and Legacy Machine Perpetual are watches of the same price, which are the same watch series at both ends of the spectrum, when it becomes a "complex" timepiece. I will find it interesting to hear more about what the audience wants and why.
MB&F is clearly enjoying the time when their watch suppliers have finished the finishing and coloring process (which I believe is the PVD coating process). They have done green in the past, they have done blue, and now the color they provide exists somewhere in the middle because it plays with light. Interestingly, MB&F has not even tried this color. The rest of the dial consists of an eccentric white small dial with blue 18k gold hour and minute hands, as well as a view of the double arched bridge and the planetary differential system for the balance.
