Porsche Design Timepiece No.1 - Sounds like the name of an interesting model for a company that has designed watches for over 40 years. In October 2014, we brought you the first news of the Porsche Design Timepiece No.1 and exhibited at the 2015 Basel International Watch & Jewellery Show - although the company has not yet participated, it is still in transition - We met Porsche and designed their "first" watches.
To explain the reasons behind this unusual name, we must briefly discuss the interesting ways in which Porsche designs work. Over the past four decades, the company has signed contracts with watchmakers for 15 to 20 years – especially (after a few years of cooperation with Orfina), IWC from 1977 to 1997, and from 1997 to 2012. What Porsche designed to do is to provide its own expertise in creating unique designs – and of course, a valuable Porsche brand – and a large watch manufacturer will be responsible for the rest. However, according to my understanding, the new content is that now they will not only provide design to third-party vendors, but also provide some manufacturing capabilities. This should mainly involve the production of cases, bracelets and dials.

Although the logo of the Porsche design is simpler and cleaner, there is room for unique details on the watch - if any, I believe that maintaining the Porsche design must be the responsibility of the brand's existing management. Paired with the case is a soft rubber strap that looks absolutely seamlessly blended - feels great, and maybe there are some options to remove the upcoming bracelet from the brand.
The gold theme is there to stop because the black dial is still quite simple - it's not necessarily a bad thing - there are no immediately noticeable textures and restrained design elements. One detail I usually look for on the chronograph is the color of the pointer: I feel it enhances legibility, and highlights the purpose of the function when all three hands of the function (seconds, minutes, and hours) are the same color - In this case, it will be red. Overall, the reason why the Porsche Design No. 1 watch is striking is not necessarily because of its appearance - once again with enough uniqueness to carry out Porsche design DNA - but because it marks a new beginning for the company. I haven't (yet) checked the strap connection mechanism, but just looking at it can be the biggest problem. I think it is proprietary... meaning that only Porsche design can make it a watch. In other words, if the strap breaks for some reason, you will toast. Your only choice is to order from Porsche.
It is actually very suitable for 46mm watches. The strap connector pivots down so it fits over your wrist.
The back of the case is very simple (titanium alloy) and the movement is Eterna modified ETA 2428. Maybe choose to use bulletproof ETA again to make the watch consistent with maintaining extreme punishment?
