Audemars Piguet – Royal Oak RD#3 – Style & Tendance

Swiss haute horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet is proud to present a new technological breakthrough (RD#3) for the Royal Oak Extra-Plat Automatic Flying Tourbillon. With a diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 8.1 mm, this anniversary stainless steel model is the first ever "giant" tourbillon model and introduces the manufacturer's new ultra-thin automatic tourbillon movement, the Calibre 2968. Measuring just 3.4mm in height, it features a combination of traditional and modern handcrafted trim. To bring this watch to life, Audemars Piguet watchmakers overcame several technical challenges while paying particular attention to aesthetic details. push back to the limits of what is possible,Replica AUDEMARS PIGUET Royal Oak RD#3 watches

New ultra-thin flying tourbillon movement
At the heart of this innovation is the Calibre 2968, an ultra-thin self-winding flying tourbillon movement that took five years to develop. The engineers and watchmakers at Audemars Piguet took on many challenges to integrate this complication, which has so far only retained a diameter of 41 mm, into a reduced size "Jumbo", a first for the manufacturer and a rarity in watchmaking One of the examples of the world in general. Given the limited volume available, a creative and complete redesign of this self-flying tourbillon was necessary to reduce the thickness required to accommodate this complication by repositioning certain components. For the first time, the tourbillon cage is equipped with a peripheral drive, also made of titanium. The combination of these two elements not only allows for a smoother distribution of energy in the tourbillon, but also makes the tourbillon lighter and more refined.

In order to make the tourbillon and movement more visible, Audemars Piguet engineers completely redesigned the architecture of the mechanism. Pushing the aesthetic details to a climax, the Royal Oak Extra-Plat Self-Flying Tourbillon features a new escapement while revealing as much as possible the inner workings of the movement. The geometry and positioning of the balance arm has also been revised to make the heartbeat of the watch more realistic. The technical design of the movement places the flying tourbillon flush with the dial for a more intense visual experience.

The hand-decorated movement components are visible through the sapphire caseback, combining the dynamism and classicism of the corners with modern drawn lines – a finish that appears on the main plate and bridges, replacing the traditional Côtes de Genève. The skeletonized and rhodium-plated bridges provide a contrasting view of the mechanism elements in rose gold tones.replica Bell & Ross BR 03-94 Multimeter watch

"Fifty years after its birth, the Royal Oak continues to evolve by challenging fashion and tradition, and its evolution will continue for the next 50 years. Representing an inexhaustible source of technological and aesthetic development, this new ultra-thin flight This is evidenced by the tourbillon debuting on the classic 39mm 'Jumbo' and 37mm diameter models. The movement is constructed to provide a unique view of the reduced cage while offering a fascinating contrast of finishes. » Michael Friedman Concurrent disease supervisor

refined aesthetic
The new RD#3 remains true to the aesthetic code of the iconic "Jumbo" model. The stainless steel case and bracelet feature the collection's hand-brushed and satin finishes, while the petite Tapisserie Midnight Blue Nuage 50 dial pays homage to the original Royal Oak. The color is obtained through a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process, ensuring a consistent and long-lasting tone across all dials.

Like the 1972 model, this new "Jumbo" reference features barrel hour markers and hands with a luminous coating for optimal readability in the dark. The Audemars Piguet logo, like the minute scale, is printed on the tapestry in white. The titanium flying tourbillon cage, which rotates at 6 o'clock, stands out from the blue canvas of the tapestry, creating an ethereal contrast that creates a hypnotic effect.replica luxury watches

On the other hand, this modern version differs from the original by its sapphire crystal caseback, which makes the new ultra-thin movement and dedicated weight impressive.

An oscillating weight dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak
The Royal Oak Automatic Ultra-Thin Flying Tourbillon has a central oscillating weight, mounted on ball bearings, equipped with two reversers 2 to ensure bidirectional winding. The 50th anniversary logo and the signature of Audemars Piguet are engraved on this rhodium-plated 22-karat rose gold oscillating weight, specially developed for the anniversary of the Royal Oak. Complementing the tones of the stainless steel case and bracelet, it also features the polished and satin finishes that have become the hallmark of the collection.

A tradition of technical prowess
In 1986, Audemars Piguet launched the world's first automatic tourbillon watch. Conceived by Jacqueline Dimier, the design places the tourbillon escapement on the dial side for the first time. Then pack the Calibre 2870 into an ultra-thin case that's just 5.3mm thick. Today, its titanium tourbillon cage remains one of the smallest in the world, at 7.2mm in diameter and weighing just 0.123 grams, one of the lightest. The model is called the Tourbillon Automatic Râ, because Jacqueline Dimier's design gives the micro-regulator (one of the smallest ever) the appearance of the sun, with its rays spreading across the dial. Only 401 copies were produced before 1992, this complication opened a new path for haute horlogerie and subsequently revived famous mechanisms including the tourbillon.high quality replica watches

Thirty years after Jacqueline Dimier's model was launched, the manufacturer known for its innovative ability is launching a series of research and development models. In 2015, Audemars Piguet unveiled its first prototype, the RD#1 Royal Oak Concept Répétition Minutes Supersonnerie. The result of 8 years of research in collaboration with the EPFL (EPFL) and an expert group of watchmakers, engineers, musicians and sound experts, this watch features Supersonnerie3 technology. The system, with 3 patents, combines knocking The striking mechanism and innovative cabinet construction have resulted in significant advances in acoustic performance, diffusion and sound aesthetics. The RD#1, presented at the SIHH that same year, will allow the manufacturer to launch a marketable Royal Oak Concept Minute Repeater Supersonnerie a year later, this version was the winner of the 2016 Grand Prix de la Horlogerie de Genève in the "Mechanical Exception" category .".

In 2019, Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak Calendar Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Automatic 41mm, an innovative prototype of which was presented at SIHH a year earlier under the name RD#2. With a case thickness of 6.3 mm and a movement thickness of only 2.89 mm, this calendar watch was the thinnest automatic calendar watch in the world at the time. To achieve this feat, the calendar is usually mounted on three levels Functions have been concentrated on the same plane. The manufacturer's specialists have also developed two patented innovations concerning the integration of the end-of-month cam with the date wheel and the association of the month cam with the month wheel. Marking a turning point in the history of complication watches, the Royal Oak Calendar Perpetual Ultra-Flat Automatic will win Audemars Piguet the Gold Needle Point at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in November 2019.

This year, the Manufacture in Le Brassus presents its new technological breakthrough with the Royal Oak Extra-Plat Self-Flying Tourbillon. Following in the footsteps of previous innovations, this new Calibre 2968-powered RD#3 combines technical innovation and aesthetic sophistication, subtly paying homage to the Royal Oak's 50th anniversary.Zenith Defy Extreme Double Tourbillon Yoshida
