Bremont Supermarine S302 GMT Watch

In March 2021, British watchmaker Bremont announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility called "The Wing". In fact, this massive 35,000-square-foot space will house their manufacturing and assembly operations. With this grand opening, Bremont is announcing the release of some new watches. Today, I'm going to talk about one of the (relatively) new releases: the Bremont Supermarine S302.replica BREMONT KINGSMAN watches

The Supermarine has long been one of Bremont's most popular watches, and we've reviewed the S300 in the past. But many people find the large size of 43mm a bit too big for their wrists. In response, Bremont introduced the Supermarine Type 300 series, with many similar features but a smaller diameter of 40mm. The S302 is the first GMT watch in the collection. Let's take a closer look!

The Supermarine S302 is powered by a Calibre 11 1/2 BE-92AE movement that has been modified by Bremont to achieve ISO 3159 chronometer rating. This means it is accurate between -4 and +6 seconds per day, making it one of the more precise mechanical movements on the market. Bremont also backs the movement with a three-year warranty, so if the accuracy isn't up to par, you'll be repaired or replaced.

My only gripe with the movement is the relatively meager power reserve. With around 38 hours of standby time, you'll have around 10% less standby time compared to most modern movements. The case is made of stainless steel with a scratch-resistant design and polished finish. As I mentioned, it's 40mm in diameter, so it has a decidedly medium wrist presence. The sides curve smoothly into a set of sturdy lugs with a width of 20mm. The 13mm case is relatively thick, but most of the thickness is taken up by the bezel, which doesn't look or feel thick when worn on the wrist.

The Flap is one of the main attractions here. This is a hybrid GMT/dive bezel made of smooth black ceramic with tan Super-LumiNova markers at the five and ten minute markers. The first 20 minutes are divided individually, just like a traditional dive watch. The springs are a bit lighter, so the bezel moves easier than you might think. Again, with 60 clicks, you can set the dive function to minutes. Then again, most GMT watches have 24 or 48 clicks so you can line up the hour markers more easily. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and has an anti-glare coating. Its dome is enough to slightly distort the outer edge of the dial, but not enough to affect your accuracy. The stainless steel case back features a screw-in design, making the watch easier to service. It is also decorated with embossed seaplanes, the hallmark of the Supermarine collection. Despite the screw-down caseback, you're still looking for a watch that is very water resistant. It is rated to a depth of 300 meters, which is even better than most dive watches.

The dial is all metal with a matte black finish. The external 24-hour indexes are located on the beveled inner edge with tan Super-LumiNova numerals at the hour markers and a hash at the half-hour markers. Here is another set of hashes for the 60-minute dial, with tiny hashes at each minute mark. There are larger application points inside, marking the five-minute position. The 12 o'clock position is marked with a triangle, while the 6 and 9 o'clock positions are marked with broad bars. At 3 o'clock, you'll see a date window instead of a marker. This window is as black as the dial and has white Arabic numerals inside. The words "Bremont" are printed on the top half of the dial and "Supermarine 300m-980ft" is printed on the bottom. As a GMT watch, the Supermarine S302 has four hands instead of three. The hour and minute hands are similar in design and consist of a tan Super-LumiNova surface with a silver outline. The only real difference is that the minute hand is longer and thinner. The seconds hand is a slender silver hand with a red-outlined luminous tip at the end. The GMT hand is the longest of all hands. The interior is mostly black, but the exterior is a large, burnt orange outline lumen arrow that reaches the outermost index.

As far as the strap is concerned, you have one of two options. First, there's a NATO canvas strap with navy and khaki stripes. This is the one in our image, which is comfortable and easy to adjust.
