We went back with our good friend Laurent Picciotto, founder of the legendary Chronopassion boutique in Paris – all the way back to the beginning, in fact. When Maximilian Büsser founded MB&F in 2005, he needed the support of some retailers who were willing to place orders for our first Horological Machine No.1 two years in advance - and, even more challenging, to pay for them 30% positive! Fast-forward 17 years later, and in 2022, Laurent has opened one of our first MB&F LABs in the world, on Rue Saint-Honoré. To commemorate this extraordinary friendship, we have created a special edition watch, available only in our Parisian store: the LMX "Paris Edition" watch with a purple sunburst dial and an 18k white gold case is limited to 15 pieces. "If I were to name the LMX Paris edition, I would undoubtedly call it 'LMX Deep Purple' in reference to the famous 1968 rock band - this piece is definitely rock!" says Laurent.
The original LMX celebrated the 10th anniversary of Legacy Machines; it was essentially a supercharged version of the first Legacy Machine, the LM1 on steroids. In the MB&F world, X has a special meaning based on the Roman numeral 10. It marks the 10th anniversary, just like HM3 FrogX (2020) marked the decade of the totem HM3, or HMX (2015) headlined the 10th MB&F year. But X is not just an ancient replacement for the Arabic numeral 10. In algebra, X is the unresolved variable; in cartography, X is the ideal destination. X stands for indescribable, unexplainable and uncategorizable; it symbolizes everything we don't know yet.

Back in October 2011, MB&F had just launched Legacy Machine N°1, the first new collection to launch alongside the existing Horological Machines; a creative laboratory, two ways of timing. Two separate time zones on the inclined dial
Those familiar with MB&F's first Legacy Machine will know instinctively how the LMX works. Two stretched white lacquered dials, each with its own hour and minute display. The right dial is set by the crown at 2 o'clock, which is engraved with the MB&F Tomahawk and winds the movement. A globe is engraved on the crown at 10 o'clock to indicate the possible use of a second time zone, setting the time on the dial on the left. Unlike the first-generation Legacy Machines, however, both dials are tilted at an angle—a more complex feature seen on the latest Legacy Machines, which requires the help of bevel gears to transfer energy from a horizontal plane to a vertical plane.
Apparent Mechanics Beneath a Sapphire Crystal Dome
While the first few Legacy Machines took a selective approach to the display between the dial and the sapphire crystal dome, later models such as the LM Perpetual, LM FlyingT, and LM Thunderdome were more open, showcasing their mechanical prowess. The LMX follows the latter approach, revealing functional elements such as the tomahawk escapement bridge and gear train components. Three large wheels are particularly prominent: located next to each winding crown, two are activated when the time is set on the corresponding time display, while the gear at 6 o'clock is the ordinary seconds wheel.high quality cheap watches
Of particular note is the new bespoke balance wheel, a 13.4mm behemoth with an inertial mass that marks a departure from more traditional threaded balance wheels and offers greater accuracy. Watchmakers regulate the heart of the LMX. Other refinements include the polished arms of the straight bridges exposed on the dial, hand-finished to give a curved or arcuate profile to their upper surfaces.
Domed 7-day power reserve indicator
In yet another tribute to the Legacy Machine No1's world-first vertical power reserve indicator, the LMX builds on this history at MB&F with a new three-dimensional display that showcases the engine's impressive 7-day (168-hour) power reserve. In this evolutionary display, two power reserve countdown modes can be selected. Two markers are located on opposite sides of the hemisphere; one framed by an arched scale frame numbered 1 to 7, and the other with scales showing the days of the week.Discount replica watches
This complex and entirely new interplay of components is further complicated by the rotation of the entire power reserve display itself. This allows the wearer to choose their preferred power reserve indication mode: by continuing to wind the Tomahawk crown even after the power reserve is fully replenished, the wearer can adjust the direction of the indication to show the date - when the LMX is on the wrist, Day or number scales are more visible.
Symmetrical movement structure
