Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Automatic Flying Tourbillon
Audemars Piguet unveils the first Royal Oak with a flying tourbillon.
Instead of being supported by a bridge on the dial side and a bridge on the movement side, the flying tourbillon is cantilevered, i.e. fixed to a bridge on one side only, to provide an unobstructed view of the mechanism on the other side.
The new Royal Oak Automatic Flying Tourbillon comes in three styles: steel, titanium and rose gold.
Probably the most interesting is the titanium version, especially with its gray opal dial, which lacks the typical checkered pattern. The dial is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and features white gold applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.
The 41mm case is 10.4mm thick and water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet.
Through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, you can see the 2950 in-house movement, beating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and having a power reserve of 65 hours.
The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Automatic Flying Tourbillon is presented on a titanium bracelet with an AP folding clasp.
