Jacob & Co. ASTRONOMIA TYPHOON AT103.40.AA.AA.A

Jacob & Co Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette: The Universe on Your Wrist

The Universe on Your Wrist: Jacob & Co.'s Planetarium is beyond description. Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon

This watch is a testimony to the evolution of watchmaking, not as a practical science, but as an art form.

Yes, astronomy tells time. But that's just one detail missing from the visual punch this watch offers.

Design elevated to art
With a diameter of 50 mm, the Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette is a large size watch.

While other watches might be judged harshly for a diameter of this size, the Astronomia has used all that space to create a visual brilliance that is quite unique even in today's wild watch world.

Dare I say, Jacob & Co should even be credited for making this unique timepiece a fairly easy-to-wear watch, rather than choosing to turn it into an elaborate clock.

I've had the pleasure of wearing the Astronomia and found the watch to be very well balanced on the wrist. If it weren't for the 25mm thickness that wouldn't slip easily into shirt cuffs, it could really be an everyday cheap luxury watches.

However, it's an easy little thing to fix, just visit the tailor and buy a few new custom shirts. . . or ditch the sleeves entirely.

The Astronomia is a watch worth seeing, admiring, and, yes, worth seeing.

The brand's founder, Jacob Arabo, knows this all too well, and he designed the Astronomia's case as a frame that holds the sapphire viewport on the side of the watch. This and the high domed sapphire crystal on the top allow you to see the movement from a variety of different angles, leaving you unsure which angle best showcases the movement.

There is no angle, the high dome crystal is almost invisible, and the watch doesn't look as tall as the stats suggest.Richard Mille Rafael Nadal RM 35-02

complex movement
Despite the fact that most movement is visible, your brain isn't making connections. It could be a distraction from all the different complications, or the realization that you have something very special and precious on your wrist.

What makes this watch more special is not that it is equipped with a three-axis tourbillon, but that the three-axis tourbillon is not the core of this watch.

In fact, it's unclear what the heart of this watch might be. Is it a tourbillon or a spherical-cut diamond representing the moon?

Or the balanced lacquer magnesium ball opposite the diamond moon?

Let's also not forget the most practical part of this watch: the subdials showing the hours and minutes move around the watch, always staying upright for immediate reading.

This watch is full of movements with two meanings: the tourbillon rotates around the first axis for 60 seconds, the second axis for 5 minutes, and the entire movement makes one revolution in 20 minutes. The globe and diamond moon revolve around their axis in 60 seconds, while the indicator dial revolves around the central axis in 20 minutes.Replica BRM V12-46-SA Watches

From these numbers, you can already tell that the planetarium only shows the time. It doesn't tell you the current phase of the moon, nor does it use a globe to provide world time in a complicated way.

That might disappoint some, but it also gave Jacob & Co more artistic freedom, and the brand jumped at it. Creating a visual spectacle is the main goal. The winding and setting mechanism is located on the back of the watch, so there is no crown to interfere with the beautiful case design.

Diamonds are forever
While the regular version of Astronomia is already breathtaking, the "baguette" version adds 359 baguette-cut diamonds (15.77 carats). Most of this is saved by invisible settings on the Watch Face.

This is a stunt, as the gemstone also slopes slightly upward near the center of the dial. The same goes for the diamond setting on the lugs, especially the side where the diamonds are fanned out, again invisible.high quality copy watches

Arabo, known as "Jacob the Jeweler," has a great reputation for diamonds. So these are of the highest quality: Top Wesselton and Internally Flawless (IF) to Very Small Inclusions (VVS1).

Typically, diamonds of this exceptional quality are displayed in white gold or platinum settings so that the color of the metal does not interfere with the colorless quality of the diamond. However, by setting them in 18 karat rose gold like Arabo does, you get a stunning contrast that better balances the sophistication of the diamond with the Astronomia technical look than the white precious metal.

The only question that remains is whether Astronomia belongs to the watchmaker's world or the jeweler's world. To this, we can only answer: both! copy watches for sale
