My first Grand Seiko
My love affair with Grand Seiko started a few years ago. I had been coveting various GS models before I finally got my hands on a very desirable 'Snowflake'. Not long after we consummated our marriage, I couldn't resist the temptation and bought another GS, this time a steel diver model. Grand Seiko – a brand loved by enthusiasts

Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Series
Now, Grand Seiko has released a seemingly identical watch, the Grand Seiko SLGA009 White Birch Spring Drive Evolution 9 . The dials look almost identical, and so does the 40mm stainless steel case. However, this latest model ditches the Caliber 9SA5 in favor of the new Spring Drive 5 Days Caliber 9RA2. The latter movement has been hailed as “the latest and greatest Spring Drive”. It has a 120-hour power reserve and is accurate to ±0.5 seconds per day, both of which surpass even the Caliber 9SA5.
Grand Seiko has soared to new heights and I can't help but wonder when will Grand Seiko's upward momentum level off?
