Graham Watch 20VEV.U05A.K41B Oversize Diver

Graham Chronofighter Oversized Target Watch Review

When it comes to stainless steel chronographs, we certainly have no shortage of options, covering a wide range of brands and price points. If you start looking for those areas with more lustre (or sophistication - but you want to mark it), that area narrows down a bit. Add in a requirement for a bold visual impact, and you've cut the field again. While it's certainly not the only option, the Graham Chronofighter Oversize Target certainly meets those requirements, and the latest version of the Graham Chronofighter adds a pretty decent dial treatment.

Let's do the first thing first and sort out the obvious. Yes, the "Oversize" in the Graham Chronofighter Oversize Target's name is partly due to the 47mm case it embodies, as well as the large carbon fiber trigger added to the left. For my money, since 47mm is their standard size, it's better to get rid of the "oversized" part of the name. While this case is definitely bigger than I usually think, it has an added bonus.

I didn't really notice the benefit until I was writing this article on my wrist. Thanks to the larger diameter, the watch can slide under the cuff so you can read the time while still hiding the chrono trigger. This does make the wrist look clean as you can only see the smooth right side of the case. Plus, our review sample had a polished black finish (kind of like black chrome, if you will) on its ceramic bezel, which made things even more refined. Plus, it prevents you from being blinded by reflections from the baffle. Inside the bezel and under the sapphire crystal are the best parts of this new model.luxury replica watches

That is, of course, the smoky dial. While I don't see a lot (and it's usually limited to skeletons on regular dials), I quickly became a fan of this treatment. Obviously, it does allow you to see movement - although in this case, it's not a particularly exciting view. What you may not realize is that when using these translucent dials, it does give the impression of printing (numbers, indexes, etc.) floating on the dial. In the case of our Graham Chronofighter Oversize Target borrower, this makes things stand out in stark contrast, which makes reading the time a breeze - not always easy when you can see the movement from the side of the dial did it.

This version uses green (there are two other options: blue on a white rubber strap and grey on a calfskin strap), and you also get a color-changing ability. Depending on the lighting -- or your angle to the light -- it can transition from a dark green to a lighter olive shade that matches (more or less) with the included rubber strap. Notably, the ends of the strap fit securely in the lugs, with no gaps between the strap and the case. In other words, you have a more complete bracelet look, with solid-end links made from summer-friendly materials (read: water is no problem). The texture you see on the strap is called the studs of Paris, and it appears on another part of the watch.Richard Mille RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal

That place is the chronograph reset button, it's black, and while you can definitely feel it, it looks a little tricky. This pusher (and the trigger below it) interacts with the G1747 automatic movement inside the case. While looking at the movement through the smoked dial is less exciting, looking through the exhibition caseback is even more interesting. You have several different finishes, including a prominent Geneva stripe on the rotor, and some blue screws that add a touch. It's worth noting that while the 4Hz movement isn't COSC certified, it's tuned in five positions, so you should expect accuracy.

Then again, in the everyday wear of a watch like the Graham Chronofighter Oversize Target, things like adjustment accuracy aren't the primary consideration -- it's more a matter of living with the watch. Even though the 150g watch is a bit larger than I would normally consider it to be quite comfortable. A big part of that is due to the strap and sloping lugs, and the fact that the trigger, crown and buttons are on the left side of the case. This means that for us left wrist wearers, the extra bulk won't penetrate deep into your wrist (for those wearing it on the right wrist, you'll have a different experience). While wearing the Graham Chronofighter Oversize Target, it did draw some attention, first because of its size, and second because of the carbon fiber triggers and smoked dial.

Finally, the Graham Chronofighter Oversize Target is an interesting iteration of the lineup. There are now a wide variety of versions and colors, which means you have plenty of options within the brand if you're interested in this style of perfect watches.
