Live Pics: Rolex Watches and Wonders 2022
Surprisingly, the brand's Air-King pilot's replica luxury watches has a redesigned dial and case, while the GMT-Master II features a left-hand crown and a green and black bezel.
Well, the guessing game is finally over: Rolex has announced its 2022 novelties and officially marked its participation in this year's Watches & Wonders expo, which began this morning. While the titanium model some had hoped for didn't come to fruition, the brand delivered some pleasant surprises, some more outstanding than others.
Despite speculation, the Air-King is not discontinued. In fact, to the surprise of many, it has been updated with a redesigned case and dial. To the surprise of many, the GMT-Master II now features a left-hand crown and a green and black bezel.
Additionally, the 950 Platinum Day-Date 40 features a new fluted bezel (also in this precious metal), while the new Yacht-Master 42 looks even more stunning in 18K yellow gold. The Datejust 31 also has a fresh, eye-catching floral dial.
new generation air king
First up is the updated Air-King, replica Rolex Watches's professional tool watch for contemporary pilots.
Inspired by the golden age of aviation in the 1930s, the Air-King was redesigned in 2016 with a distinctive black dial. Now, for 2022, the dial has received a new look again, optimizing the Chromalight display and adding a "0" before the "5" on the minute scale. Additionally, the 40mm Oystersteel case has been redesigned and now features a crown guard.
The new generation Air-King is powered by the Calibre 3230 automatic movement. First introduced by the brand in 2020, this movement features a patented anti-magnetic Chronergy escapement and a blue Parachrom hairspring, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
GMT-Master II with left crown and green and black bezel
The GMT-Master II has been flipped! No, not in the profiteering sense (at least not yet). We mean that the GMT-Master II now features a left-hand crown and date aperture at 9 o'clock, rather than at 3 o'clock.
What’s more, the rotating bezel of this new Reference 126720VTNR also features a green and black Cerachrom insert, marking the first time this colour combination has been featured on a GMT-Master II high quality replica watches.
Inside, we can still find the Calibre 3285, also equipped with a Chronergy escapement. Interestingly, however, Rolex needed to adjust its process for measuring the accuracy of watches during final testing, possibly because of the new inverted element.
New 950 Platinum Day-Date 40 Notched Bezel
We've seen the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 950 platinum before with an ice blue dial (reference M228206-0044), but with a smooth bezel.
Now, the new Reference 228236 offers us more of the same goodness, but with the addition of a classic Day-Date feature: a fluted bezel made of 950 platinum, a first for Rolex.
According to the brand, it took years of research to get the aesthetic and technical properties of the grooved bezel just right; that’s what the use of this most precious metal calls for.
It features the 3255 self-winding movement with Chronergy escapement, first used for the Day-Date 40 in 2015. Finally, the new Day-Date’s 40mm Oyster case is paired with the iconic Presidential bracelet, also in platinum, of course.replica Patek Philippe Nautilus Watches
Yacht-Master 42: Now in 18K Gold
Rolex's Yacht-Master has had a 42mm case since 2019. While 18k white gold is already easily eye-catching, the new 18k gold reference 226658 looks even better.
This warm precious metal - created and cast at the brand's foundry in Geneva - contrasts with a black lacquered dial, black Oysterflex bracelet and bidirectional rotating bezel with matte black Cerachrom inserts.
Equipped with the Calibre 3235 - again with the Chronergy escapement - it has powered the Yacht-Master 42 since its introduction three years ago.
The Yacht-Master collection also welcomes the spectacular new Yacht-Master 40, featuring a coloured sapphire and diamond-set bezel and dazzling diamond-set lugs and crown guards.
Datejust 31 Floral Dial
Finally, Rolex used what it calls “high-tech finishing techniques” to create some striking new floral dials for its Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31.
Available in azure, olive green and silver, the dial features 24 flowers with subtle reliefs on the edges of the petals. Sunshine, matte and grained finishes add even more texture, while diamonds illuminate the center of each flower. Richard Mille RM 035 Rafael Nadal
